After reading Josh’s post about his spotlight woes, I IMed him and offered a solution. If spotlight is being a complete pain in the ass, go to Terminal (or Finder if you have hidden files shown). Find the .Spotlight-V100 file in the root “/R

rm -r .Spotlightfile
Every volume will have a .spotlight file.
